Equifax Canada review: reports, scores and the free-access route

If you are searching for Equifax, first decide whether you need a report, account support, a correction or a monitoring product. Those are different tasks.

THE SHORT ANSWER

Equifax is one of Canada’s main credit bureaus. FCAC provides official instructions for accessing its free report. Our view: start with the report-access task you need, then evaluate paid monitoring separately. This page is not an Equifax login or dispute portal.

Review evidence

This is documentary research, not a customer test. How we review companies.

The bureau and the lender have different roles

FCAC identifies Equifax and TransUnion as Canada’s two main credit bureaus. A bureau report contains credit-history information; a lender makes its own decision about a credit application. A score displayed to you should not be interpreted as a rate quote or a guarantee that every lender will assess you in the same way.

Use the official free-report route

The FCAC report-access page links to Equifax’s free Canadian report options. Use that verified route and read which product you are selecting. We have not tested the current signed-in interface or audited subscription cancellation. Avoid using a third-party enquiry to try to recover a password or retrieve a bureau report.

Evaluate monitoring against a specific need

If you are considering a paid product, list the features you actually want, the price after any introductory period and the cancellation process. Compare those with what the free route supplies. Paying for a subscription does not itself correct inaccurate entries or establish that the information will be identical across bureaus.

Our take: useful data access, not a debt solution by itself

The report can help you identify the account-level question to resolve. If an entry is wrong, follow the bureau’s dispute process with supporting evidence. If entries are accurate but payments are difficult, debt guidance is a separate need. We do not rate Equifax’s customer support because we have not tested it.

Prepare for a conversation

  • Whether you need access, correction or monitoring.
  • The official Canadian product and domain.
  • Any paid subscription and renewal terms.
  • The exact account entry you want to investigate.

You do not need account numbers, a SIN, banking credentials or uploaded documents to start our enquiry.

Can this form give me my Equifax report or fix my login?

No. Use Equifax’s official access or support process. Our CTA is a separate guidance enquiry and must not contain your bureau password, report or identity documents.
